Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Makes Anklets Cool Again With Sweats and a Fresh Pedicure

Rosie Huntington-Whitely is bringing back a major ’90s trend in a way only she could.

The British native showed off a fresh blush pink pedicure last night on her Instagram channel, telling her 11.3 million followers that she “finally got round to painting my toes.”

In the shot, Huntington-Whiteley provided the ultimate cool-girl at-home style inspiration by dressing up her sweatpants with a dual-layered gold chain ankle on her right foot.

A post shared by Rosie HW (@rosiehw) on

Anklets became a must-have accessory throughout the end of the 20th century and have since experienced a revamp in tandem with a revitalization of major ’90s-style trends, including square-toe footwear, mom jeans and platforms. Nowadays, anklets serve as an easy way to add glitz to an ensemble even when going barefoot in the comfort of one’s own home.

Just yesterday, Huntington-Whiteley’s fellow model Bella Hadid followed suit by adding a pearl layered anklet to her at-home photo shoot. As she showed off her new Fenty glasses courtesy of Rihanna’s brand, the white accents of her jewelry balanced the neon green tones of her look and brought a glam touch.

Anklets aren’t the only retro trend that Huntington-Whiteley has tested out. The 33-year-old tends to stay on top of fashion’s top trends when it comes to both apparel and footwear. In February, for example, she was spotted at the Byredo store opening event in Los Angeles in a hit silhouette from celebrity-favorited brand Bottega Veneta. Her Italian-made $1,220 chocolate Spiral sandals had a single diagonal strap over the foot, as well as a toe ring.

Nike, Reebok & More Big Brands Are Taking a Stand For Racial Injustice as National Unrest Heats Up

As the aftershock starts to set in following the death of George Floyd — the latest victim in a recent string of killings of African Americans at the hands of police officers and other would-be authority figures — thing are shifting for boldface footwear brands.

Companies that are oftentimes vocal on controversial issue and those that have historically steered clear are all taking a definitive stand.

Nike, a brand that rarely backs down in the face of contended affairs, took to social media last night to share its stance on the case circulating around Floyd. For the first time, the brand switched up its iconic “Just Do It” slogan in a powerful video it shared across its social media pages.

“For once, don’t do it. Don’t pretend there’s not a problem in America. Don’t turn your back on racism. Don’t accept innocent lives being taken from us,” the text reads. “Don’t make any more excuses. Don’t think this doesn’t affect you. Don’t sit back and be silent. Don’t think you can’t be part of the change. Let’s all be part of the change.”

Adding in the hashtag #UntilWeAllWin, the video was shared across all of the brand’s social media channels including its owned-brands Converse and Air Jordan. On Twitter, Adidas expressed its support of its fellow athletic wear company’s message with a retweet, adding the text: “Together is how we move forward. Together is how we make change.”

Brooks Running also shared the clip on its account with the caption “When we all step up, the world steps forward.”

Reebok joined the list of brands sharing thoughts on social media with a series of three text-filled black and white photos. The first reads “Without the black community, Reebok would not exist. America would not exist.”

The athletic company then added in the next two slides: “We are not asking you to buy our shoes. We are asking you to walk in someone else’s. To stand in solidarity. To find our common ground of humanity.”

It then captioned the post on Instagram with a final message of “To the black community: We see you. We stand in solidarity with you. This can no longer be the status quo.”

Before sharing its own message, Reebok reposted a video by Shoe Palace that was put up two days ago.

Puma also joined the fray with its own post on Instagram, shared earlier today, in which it defined the word “reform.” The brand announced it is choosing to support the Minnesota Freedom Fund and encouraged followers to donate to cause, adding: “We need to take action together.”

New Balance called not just for words but for peaceful action. It urged its 5.5 million Instagram followers to sign the petition for Justice for George Floyd and declared that it cannot be silent on key issues.

Under Armour announced across its social media pages that it stands for equality  The brand stated: “One playing field. One voice. One future where we’re truly equal. Because united, we win.”

Hoka One One wrote “We fly higher when we fly together. #blacklivesmatter.” It published a series of messages on Instagram, finishing with the poignant note of “The time is now.”

For its part, Merrell sent a strong message on Instagram, “No matter who you are, where you came from, who you love or how you move, we should all be able to safely enjoy the power of being outside, or wherever life takes us,” the brand wrote. “We recognize that not everyone has the privilege to get outside safely and without fear.”

Nordstrom Stores in Seattle and Los Angeles Looted Amid George Floyd Protests

As protests took a destructive turn in Seattle this afternoon, the Nordstrom flagship was among the stores being looted downtown.

Separately, multiple reports have surfaced about looting in Nordstrom’s store at The Grove in Los Angeles, which was set to reopen to customers in the coming days as coronavirus restrictions are lifted across the city.

In Nordstrom’s hometown, photos from The Seattle Times showed vehicles burning outside the department store as well as looters inside throwing merchandise.

Crowds are gathering in most major cities across the country tonight to protest the killing of George Floyd — a 46-year-old unarmed black man who was killed on Monday by a white Minneapolis police officer, Devin Chauvin, after Chauvin knelt on Floyd’s neck during an arrest.

Since then, national unrest has heated up across America, with protesters and police clashing in some places.

A reporter from Fox 11 Los Angeles tweeted about the situation at Nordstrom’s store at The Grove.

Also in Los Angeles, according to a local CBS station, an Alexander McQueen boutique and other stores on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills were broken into.

Target shut down more than a dozen stores in the Minneapolis-St.Paul area on Thursday after one of its outposts in the city experienced looting on Wednesday as individuals gathered to protest Floyd’s death.

A bystander's video posted online on 25 May appeared to show George Floyd, 46, pleading with arresting officers that he couldn't breathe as an officer knelt on his neck. Nike shared a powerful video across its social media pages late Friday, switching up its “Just Do It” slogan for the first time.

The Summer Basic That Is Now Replacing All My Leggings

Lately, we’ve been talking a lot about bottoms that are, well, soft. Since wearing jeans or anything stiff in nature has become nearly obsolete, we’ve been frantically trying to figure out fun alternatives for the “hard” pants we once knew. With summer swiftly approaching, I began pondering what kinds of warm-weather bottoms I would rely on throughout the season. Leggings are always a go-to for me while working out, of course, but also as mindless loungewear in the cooler months. This summer, however, I am wanting something different, so I’m ditching my leggings for sweatshorts

Not that I still don’t love my leggings, but now that working from home is the new normal for a while, I have found that leggings actually aren’t all that comfortable. Sweatpants, yes. Pajamas, of course. But when the temperatures rise outside, you can officially catch me sporting sweatshorts and sweatshorts only. The summer basic looks great with just about everything—tank tops, button-down shirts, swimsuits, and more. I personally can’t wait to get creative with my sweatshorts styling, and in case you want to replace some of your leggings with me this season, I shopped out the best sweatshorts on the market so we can vibe in the comfy loungewear together.

One more pair of tie-dye shorts before you go.

These ruched shorts are making me feel some type of way. Next up: Meet the eight most popular designer bags (and their affordable counterparts) of the summer.

The 7 Most Affordable, Relatable Trends on Shopbop and Revolve

When I think of shopping sites that always have all the trends, and a good mix of affordable and designer pieces, Revolve and Shopbop always come to mind first. And I don’t know about you, but these days, I just want to buy more of the easy-to-wear trends I already know and love. And in case you’re on the same wavelength as me right now, keep reading.

Among Shopbop and Revolve’s vast inventory are plenty of special occasion pieces and brand-new, directional pieces, but I just want to wear comfortable things that go with pieces I already own currently, so that’s what I went in search for. The seven trends listed below are still quite forward and cool, but you won’t look like you’re trying too hard while just wearing them to lounge at home or to go to the grocery store.

Keep scrolling the most affordable, related trends at two of yours and my favorite sites, and shop my selections for each.

Camp shirts, aka dad shirts, are that rare item that looks cool with everything from bike shorts to midi skirts. You can leave them out, tuck them in, layer them over a tank, or even wear one as a swimsuit cover-up. No matter how you choose to style it, it’s pretty impossible not to look cool.

Gone are the days when pleats were considered frumpy. Some of my favorite pants and shorts have pleats. They’re comfortable and far more flattering than they were in the ’80s and ’90s, so I urge you to not shy away from this trend.

I’m wearing breezy tiered dresses as house dresses now but when I start going out a little more, I’m just going to throw on a pair of heels (low heels, that is) and head out the door. Gotta love a one-and-done outfit.

Yes, tie-dye is back this summer and it’s better than ever at Revolve and Shopbop. Sweats and tees are the obvious choice, but I’m also loving tie-dye dresses and accessories.

I wouldn’t call embroidery a new trend, per se (it’s readily available every summer), but I’ve spotted more pretty embroidered pieces than ever (and for reasonable prices) this summer.

Oversize button-downs can be paired with leggings, sweatshorts, swimsuits, skinny jeans—you name it. So it’s easy to see why everyone is wearing them this summer. I’d advise considering sizing up for the most of-the-moment fit.

If you want to wear comfortable flip-flops and actually look chic, pair them with something a bit more elevated than “beachy.” And even better, choose a pair of flip-flops that aren’t your basic rubber ones, many of which you can find at Revolve and Shopbop.

75 Days Later and This Is What Our Office Is Wearing While WFH

Being cooped up at home can bring up a lot of feelings. Our world is currently in a state of self-isolation and social distancing due to the coronavirus—something we are not typically accustomed to as a culture. While we are all attempting to band together as a society to do our part by staying inside, that doesn’t mean we can’t get creative with alternative ways to connect to one another. And in this new series, we’re connecting via our favorite at-home outfits. Next up: the stylish employees of Who What Wear.

Believe it or not, it’s been 75 days since our office closed its doors and mandated its work-from-home policy. With the future still remaining fairly uncertain, our company is taking any chance it can get to lift spirits and conjure up new ways we can all feel connected while still being apart. Since we do work at a fashion publication, I thought it would be fun to connect by checking in on the employees of Who What Wear and find out what they are wearing after being quarantined for over 75 days. Not to my surprise, the team really showed up. Donning everything from the latest trends (tie-dye sweatshorts and ribbed tanks) to summer’s most popular must-haves (floral dresses and strappy sandals), the women ahead are proving that although the world around us is different, getting dressed every day and expressing your personal style is always a good idea.

Ahead, hear from some of our most stylish Who What Wear employees on what they are wearing while working from home these days, and shop all the items you’ll need to re-create their looks.

“Big surprise… I’m WFH in neutrals, and so is my pup! Decided to break out my light beige linen pants that I adore wearing when the summer months hit my calendar.” — Emily Gerstein, Advertising Sales Associate

“Any top with bike shorts is an instant outfit these days. Today I picked this colorful patchwork tee to spark a little outfit joy.” — Kat Collings, Editor in Chief

“Keeping it comfy, cozy, and neutral today. Inspired by all of the monochrome lewks that Rihanna has given us year after year.” — Kia Topps, People & Talent Coordinator

“All summer, I just wear men’s shirts over everything. The Madewell men’s section is a treasure trove of perfect relaxed-fit button-downs. My Holly Ryan Picasso necklace makes me sublimely happy (and gets a lot of requests for close-ups over Zoom). Also, I need to tell you that I just bought these Free People seamless rib bike shorts in four colors and haven’t looked back.” — Natalie Cantell, Senior Director, Branded Content

“Thanks to the recent rise in temperature, I’ve officially graduated from sweatpants to sweatshorts, and the opportunities feel endless!” — Nicole Eshaghpour, Senior Market Editor

“I’ve realized that tie-dye is slowly taking over my wardrobe, but it makes me happy at the moment, so tie-dye multiple times a week it is for now.” — Allyson Payer, Senior Editor

“I’m living in oversize button-downs right now. They’re relaxed and easy to wear, and they feel a few rungs more elevated than wearing a hoodie or tee. I’m styling them with long shorts, Birkenstocks, and a baseball hat for a relaxed and comfortable look.” — Judith Jones, Market Editor

“My outfits at home are revolving around pieces that are comfortable but still feel pulled-together. Right now, I’m loving tees from L.A.-based brand Sporty & Rich, which all feel like a cool throwback to activewear from the ’80s and ’90s. Though I was really leaning into sweatpants and sneakers last month, I’ve been more inspired to wear jeans and loafers recently.” — Kristen Nichols, Managing Editor

“I’m a firm believer that a good denim jacket can make any outfit look cute, even a pair of sweats and sneakers! I admittedly stole this jacket from my boyfriend, but I’m sure it’s getting more use with me than with him. It truly has become my quarantine uniform.” — Norah Murphy, Influencer Marketing Associate

“I’ve always loved matching sets for work, and now I’ve started to find some great loungewear for the house. This is my new ‘day-to-night’ look, starting off my morning with Zoom conference calls and ending the evening with Zoom happy hours.” — Paulina Galoostian, Senior Influencer Manager

“I live in NYC but didn’t expect to spend three months in L.A. with my family. So I literally only brought one dress. I got this fun floral from Who What Wear collection beforehand, and I wear it whenever I’m over lounge pants. And it never fails to put in me a good mood!”  — Vanessa Muro, Director of Research

From Gucci to YSL, Designer Perfumes Are Making a Comeback—Here’s Our Guide

I wore Britney Spears perfume almost exclusively through junior high until I made the very elevated graduation to Victoria’s Secret body mists freshman year of high school. (Anyone else?) Then, after fruity and saccharine spritzers became passé, I began to venture into the depths of Sephora’s holy-grail treasure trove of designer perfumes.

Tom Ford, Chloé, Jimmy Choo, Marc Jacobs, DKNY… I’d head home with a Juicy Couture bag stuffed with testers and a running list in my head of every lacquered bottle I envisioned atop my bedroom vanity. I cultivated the ultimate collection of designer perfumes well into college, but after graduating (and moving to L.A. to become a beauty editor!), my tastes shifted. Or rather, it was subtly insinuated my tastes should shift. Suddenly, ultra-chic indie perfume houses like Byredo, Diptyque, Killian, Le Labo, and many more were “the cool” fragrances to covet, and I started to lose interest in the designer labels I previously gravitated toward.

However, as things have come full circle and as someone who now owns at least one perfume from practically every perfume brand (designer and not), I’ve come to the realization that, honestly, I really love my collection of designer perfumes from houses like Chanel and Dior. They’re not predictable or basic; they’re classic. And more often than not, it’s these fragrances that rack in the compliments faster than my olfactory coven of non-designer labels. In fact, I’ve noticed a designer-perfume resurgence of sorts on social media, so here I am calling an official comeback. Keep scrolling for the 10 designers I love most and the top two scents I’d recommend from each.

Key notes: iced accord, yuzu, pomegranate, peony, magnolia, lotus flower, acajou, vegetal amber, musk. Bright Crystal is arguably Versace’s most iconic perfume. (It’s a toss-up—Yellow Diamond is also beloved.) That said, there’s something so timeless and sparkly about this designer fragrance. Fun fact: It’s a concerted blend of Donatella Versace’s favorite floral fragrances, but thanks to deeper hints of amber and musk, it doesn’t read overly delicate as some floral scents do.

Key notes: citron from diamante, pear sorbet, neroli, bergamot, nymphea, freesia, orange blossom, mimosa, amber wood, palo santo, musk

Key notes: citrus fruit, peony, mandarin, rose, pink peppercorn, osmanthus, patchouli, sandalwood, vanilla. This lovely designer perfume from Gucci can satisfy all palettes. It’s basically a tri-hybrid between sweet, floral, and fruity. It’s my go-to when I want to smell amazing but can’t decide between my collection of bottles.

Key notes: bergamot, grapefruit, narcissus, violet, raspberry, jasmine, patchouli, amber

Key notes: peony, rose, honey, cedarwood. Chloé Eau de Parfum isn’t your average designer rose perfume. At first, it does fit the classic rose fragrance prototype by smelling lightly powdery, but that soon evolves into a richer scent that’s light, warm, and elegant. (In other words, this isn’t your grandma’s rose potpourri.)

Key notes: oakmoss, freesia, Mirabelle liquor

Key notes: yuzu, pineapple leaves, litchi, mandarin, grapes, pink peony, peach blossom, nashi, white musk, creamy amyris woods. The best word I can think of to describe this best-selling perfume from Burberry is juicy. It has lush hints of the tropics—think mandarin, yuzu, and pineapple—but it’s lightly sweetened with floral nods from peach blossom and sweet pea.

Key notes: blackberry, jasmine, benzoin

Key notes: black plum nectar, lychee, grapefruit, heliotrope, vanilla orchid, jasmine, roasted tonka bean, benzoin, sandalwood. This designer perfume does its sweaty name justice. It’s warm and addictive, and I swear it gets better and better the longer you wear it. I discovered it years ago, and it’s still what I wear on nights out thanks to the unique alchemy of floral and gourmand notes.

Key notes: pear, sweet Italian orange, tiger orchid, Indonesian patchouli, caramel

Key notes: grapefruit-quince, citron, jasmine, teakwood, white musk. People get very obsessive about Chanel perfumes. And for good reason! Chanel is the OG where designer perfumes are concerned. In fact, we devoted an entire story to the designer as an ode to the brand’s cult-classic collection of scents. That said, Chance Eau Tendre Eau de Toilette will always be the love of my life where Chanel perfumes are concerned.

Key notes: aldehydes, jasmine, neroli, sandalwood

Key notes: Grasse rose absolue, Italian mandarin, white musk accord. You might be sick of hearing me talk about this perfume, but my obsession is still at large, and by far, it’s my favorite rose fragrance to ever exist. (And I’ve smelled them all!) The magic is in the way it’s balanced with Italian mandarin and white musk accord

Key notes: ylang-ylang, Damascus rose, jasmine

Key notes: lavender essence, orange blossom, musk accord. I’m such a huge fan of this fragrance from YSL. I’ll be honest. A lot of designer perfumes can smell predictable or basic, but this herbal and earthy blend of this one is truly unique and unexpected. It’s intricate! People always used to ask me what I was wearing when I would spritz it at the office.

Key notes: coffee, orange blossom, absinthe

Key notes: tobacco leaf, ginger, cocoa, tonka bean, vanilla. Choosing the best perfumes from Tom Ford is like having to choose a favorite child! You really can’t go wrong no matter the direction, but Tobacco Vanille is so damn dreamy. People are also infatuated with Fucking Fabulous, Black Orchid, Santal Blush, and Oud Wood, but this is one of the best scents (hands down) for those looking for something warm and spicy.

Key notes: black truffle, bergamot, black orchid, black plum, noir gourmand accord, patchouli

Key notes: strawberry, violet leaves, jasmine. I’m not ashamed to say that as a 27-year-old lady, I STILL love my collection of Daisy perfumes from Marc Jacobs. They’re iconic! And honestly, they score me more compliments than some of my favorite scents from Byredo and Diptyque. (So there’s that!) The OG Daisy is timeless and beautiful and chic. I’m always drawn to scents with notes of violet and jasmine, and the hit of fruity strawberry makes this one all the more divine.

Key notes: crystallized cloudberries, daisy tree petals, cashmere musks, driftwood. Up next: I Wore a Different Perfume Every Day for a Month—These 10 Earned Me Compliments

9 Cheap Matching Sets to Buy and Wear When You Just Can’t

As someone who could easily be categorized as a “lazy dresser,” I’m always looking for effortless outfit ideas that I know won’t fail me when I’m not in the mood to think or try a bunch of options on. One trick that I’ve found works every time and in any season is cute and classic matching sets. In fact, they’re especially convenient for summer when, most of the time, you don’t even need to worry about matching a jacket to your look. Just add shoes.

With this and the fact that the new season is nearly here on my mind, today I thought I’d round up nine such sets that will make dressing for the new season almost too easy. No really—they might make you never want to put together another outfit again. To see and shop all the sets, which, thanks to our very own Who What Wear collection, all clock in under $80 for both pieces, simply continue on.

It doesn’t get more classic than gingham.

You can always style this with a white tank to change things up.

Who doesn’t love a micro-floral?

When paired with the matching top, this will actually look like a dress—and no one has to know it’s not one.

Tank and trousers?

Yes, please!

Built-in belts make everything better.

Just add sandals.

I love this tank on its own, but it will look so good with the below skirt.

See what I mean?

Polka dot is one print I would advise you to never purge from your closet, because it always comes back.

The matching pants really make the look.

I own this jacket-top hybrid, and it’s more useful than you could ever imagine.

You’ll live in these pants this summer.

A pretty top in an even prettier print.

I had to throw in a shorts set.

You can wear this out or even just to lounge around the house.

A final reminder that matching sets are great investments because you can wear the pieces together or separately, giving you endless outfit options.

You Won’t Believe How Easy and Effective These DIY Face Masks Are

When it comes to beauty routines, there’s nothing quite like a face mask to turn your everyday skincare steps into a relaxing, self-care moment. Taking five to 10 minutes whilst the mask works its magic is probably the closest experience to a spa day we can get right now. Your mind and your skin will also thank you for that bit of extra attention.

So now onto the decision of which mask to use. From hydrating sheet masks to under-eye plumping patches and good old-fashioned detoxifying charcoal masks, these days there’s a plethora of options on the market promising miraculous results. But have you ever considered making your own?

Would you believe some of the best and most effective face masks can be made in the comfort of your own kitchen and without the extraneous ingredients that you can sometimes find in shop-bought concoctions? Just purely good stuff.

Keep scrolling for homemade mixtures to help with everything from congested skin, dryness and, of course, getting that glow. Just a few things to remember: Always do a patch test first, be sure to use them on the same day of making and check those sell-by dates. (If you wouldn’t eat it, probably best not to slather it on your face.) Happy face-masking!

If your moisturizer isn’t quite going far enough this winter, this brunch-appropriate combination will quench and nourish your skin. According to Clean Beauty Insiders co-founder Dominika Minarovic, honey is a “wonder ingredient.” As a humectant, it helps skin retain moisture without adding oil, helping the appearance of scars and aiding skin cell regeneration. Add oats, a popular ingredient for brands like Garnier, which have soothing and moisturizing properties, and avocado oils will leave skin feeling extra smooth.  Ingredients: 1/2 avocado. 1 tbsp. honey. Handful of oats. Directions: Mash avocado and mix all ingredients together. Apply to clean dry skin and leave on for 15 minutes max, avoiding eye area. Wash off with warm water and moisturize as usual.

Honey is not only moisturizing, but it’s also a natural antibacterial, making it extremely effective in acne-fighting masks, according to Lily Kunin, creator of Clean Food Dirty City and author of the plant-based cookbook Good Clean Food. “Nutritional yeast is also excellent for treating acne, as it’s rich in B-vitamins that help calm the skin barrier, especially if you’re breaking out around your period,” she says.  Ingredients:  2 chamomile tea bags. 1 tbsp. Manuka honey. 1 tsp. nutritional yeast. Directions:  Brew one cup of chamomile tea using two tea bags and cool completely. Mix together the honey and yeast, and add enough of the cool tea to make a paste runny enough to spread over your face. Apply a thin layer and leave for 20 minutes. Wash off and moisturize as usual.

No need to spend all your money on the latest acids and toners just yet. Try out this all-natural version first and reap the rewards. Yogurt is full of lactic acid, which will lift away tired and dull surface cells and reveal the brighter layers below. Honey will add elasticity to the skin and, according to Kate Protopapas, founder of all-natural, vegan and cruelty-free skincare brand Isla Apothecary, turmeric is extremely useful for combatting pigmentation. Ingredients: 1 tbsp. natural, plain yogurt. 1 tbsp. honey. 1 tbsp. turmeric powder. Directions: Mix all ingredients together and apply to clean, dry skin. Leave for 10 to 15 minutes, wash off and moisturize as usual.

If your skin is looking dull, try this natural mixture, which is a gentle alternative to stronger acids (especially good if your skin is on the sensitive side). Aloe vera, filled with vitamins A, C, E, B1, B2, B3, B6 and B12 (phew), has unbeatable radiance-enhancing and soothing properties, and papaya is a natural exfoliant with dead-skin-cell-dissolving enzymes, leaving your skin on the (much) glowier and plumper side.  Ingredients: 1 tbsp. cacao powder . 1/4 papaya flesh. Squeeze of aloe vera. Directions: Mix all ingredients together, apply to clean, dry skin and leave for 10 minutes. Wipe off with cotton pads or tissue and rinse any excess.

If it’s the opposite of dry, cracked skin you’re suffering from, this mask will help calm and mattify. Oatmeal soothes, and the combination of egg yolks will tighten and plump. You may think the addition of olive oil makes no sense at all if it’s the opposite you’re trying to achieve, but the kitchen essential will help balance out hydration, aiming to slow your body’s overproduction of its own oils. It’s also packed with vitamin E, which acts to create a barrier for the skin post-mask, protecting against any cell-damaging free radicals. Ingredients: 1 egg yolk. 1 tbsp. honey. 1 tbsp. olive oil. Small handful of oatmeal. Directions: Combine all of the ingredients well and apply to clean, dry face for 15 to 20 minutes, avoiding the eye area. Wash off with luke-warm water and then moisturize.

It’s more important than ever to be protecting your skin from the damaging effects of environmental factors like pollution. This DIY mask from Clean Beauty Insiders will do just the job. Vitamin E from the olive oil and the abundant antioxidants found in matcha will create a barrier on the skin, fighting those dreaded free radicals that can come from external factors like pollution and leave skin feeling tired and dull, breaking down collagen production and dehydrating the surface. Meanwhile, fatty acids from the almonds will leave the skin feeling plumped and supple.  Ingredients: Handful of ground almonds . 2 tbsp. olive oil. 1tsp. matcha green tea powder. Directions: Mix together ingredients and leave on clean skin for up to 10 minutes. Before rinsing off with warm water, massage the paste into skin to exfoliate dead cells and remove everything that might be clogging the pores.

The Complete Capsule: 11 Summer Essentials to Carry You Through Till Fall

The weather in this country might be as confusing as the politics this week, but we’re happily distracting ourselves by contemplating the mechanics of our summer wardrobes. We don’t need to list off the items that belong in a seasonal capsule (in every beach-bound suitcase, you’ll find dresses, sandals and swimsuits). However, there are certain versions that will prove the most versatile and really see you through the next six weeks—and perhaps even six years.

The ideal 2020 summer capsule wardrobe includes classics we revisit every year, including tan leather sandals, white dresses, basket bags and simple swimwear. There are some new additions to the list this year, however, including fun hair accessories, strappy sandals and vest tops. Keep scrolling to shop 11 editor-approved essentials that will see you through this summer, the sudden heatwave and beyond.

No summer wardrobe is complete without a breezy and effortless white dress. Whether you go for a relaxed linen dress or voluminous cotton frock, it will be your go-to versatile piece you lean on time and time again.

Milkmaid tops are the perfect items for weekends in the park, and thankfully, Topshop, ASOS, H&M and more have all created pretty prairie-style tops with lace-up detailing, shirred bodices, square necklines and bows.

Tan leather slides have long been associated with luxury thanks to Hermès’s iconic Oran sandals and Saint Laurent’s Nu Pieds. High-street versions can look just as elegant.

When it’s just too hot to wear white jeans and unthinkable to even consider anything as complicated as a jumpsuit, a slip skirt will continue to be your best pal well into the warmer months. Pair with a nostalgic tee and sandals, and opt for a bucket hat if you’d like to shade your visage in style.

Sunglasses are often a key part of any summer wardrobe, and below are three pairs that will go with any outfit.

When it comes to T-shirts, the tank top is quickly regaining popularity. If you want to expose maximum shoulder, opt for a racer-style or strappy buckled tank. Ribbed tanks with wider straps feel like a smarter option you can wear in casual professional settings too.

In summer, you just can’t go wrong with a throw-it-on floral dress. Brands know that, so you won’t have to look for long to find a dress that will work as a morning pick-me-up this summer.

The most wide-spread trend so far from the summer collections is strappy sandals (also known as “naked” or “floss” heels). The straps are tiny and contort across the foot in all kinds of crisscrossing patterns. However, in the heat, you’re going to want something that reflects this trend but doesn’t kill your feet. Cue strappy flat sporty sandals, such as Tevas.

The basket bag has been a summer staple for several years now and is an enduring fashion import from French style icons.

A hair tie is one of those things you permanently need on your wrist in summer, but this year, prepare to upgrade your ponytails with colorful scrunchies, hair scarves, clips and headbands. Pulling your hair off your face has never looked so chic or felt so liberating.

There are so many exciting swimwear trends around this year, however, when talking about a capsule summer wardrobe, it pays to have a simple bikini or one-piece that goes with everything.

This Trend Is Starting to Bubble, But It’s Destined to Replace Skinny Leggings

Replace skinny leggings? Could the day ever really come? Well, according to the girls who are always one step ahead of the curve, it is well on its way. If you grew up dancing, you are a little too familiar with the two words I am about to type: jazz pants. Even if you didn’t grow up spending your entire life inside of a dance studio, you remember those black stretchy pants that sort of flared out at the bottom. A cult-favorite brand at the time was Hard Tail (are your wheels turning?), and you could catch girls 8 to 25 wearing them with just about everything.

I am here today to tell you that jazz pants are in fact back, and there really couldn’t be a better time for a comfortable pant trend to start bubbling. Made of stretchy fabrics and soft waistbands, jazz pants are here to take away any insecurity you may have had about wearing leggings as “real” pants because this new style is basically leggings leveled up. We first started seeing leggings take on new forms with the rise of the split hem, and it is clear that jazz pants are the living proof that leggings are evolving and transforming right before our eyes.

The slight bootcut or flared hem gives any outfit, whether it be head-to-toe athleisure or a night-out look like Bella Hadid’s (below), a polished edge without forcing you to sacrifice any comfort. Ahead, go on to see how fashion girls are already wearing the rising trend, and shop dozens of jazz-pant options for yourself.

You know when Bella Hadid is wearing something that it’s bound to become the new sartorial obsession of the month (at least). These particular I.Am.Gia pants actually incorporate two of my current favorite trends—wraparound bottoms and jazz pants.

Fashion girls are pairing all kinds of exciting things with their jazz pants including corset tops, chunky boots, and sporty hoodies.

Talk about a look. If you were ever on the fence about wearing leggings as pants, this new bootcut and even split-hem style is meeting you right in the middle.

Since chances are you probably aren’t wearing your jeans as much anymore considering most of your time is spent indoors, throw on some jazz pants with your tanks and sneakers.

See? There’s just something about jazz pants that hits different. They elongate your legs (if that’s something you want) and instantly polish up even the most basic of outfits.

Thanks to this new pant trend, athleisure attire feels a tad fancier, and I don’t know about you, but I need that right about now.

Just showing you these Bella Hadid–approved pants one more time because they are just too chic not to.

Go for an all-black ensemble but add a pop of color via your shoes. You’ll look so good no one will even know you’re basically wearing extremely comfortable leggings.

While you can certainly wear jazz pants out and about in the real world, they are also the perfect update to our highly frequented WFH wardrobe.

This Is My Favorite Place to Buy Under-$50 Jewelry That Looks Expensive

As much as I like the prices of costume jewelry, I’m very wary of cheap jewelry looking, well, cheap. I’m of the mindset that with all of the well-priced fine jewelry brands out there now, I’d rather just save up for something a little more substantial. That is, until I discovered & Other Stories’ jewelry section. In case you weren’t already aware, it’s seriously good.

I’ve long been a fan of & Other Stories’ pretty dresses, chic blazers, and perfect denim, all of which look far more expensive than they are, so I’m hardly surprised that they won me over with the jewelry too. Tons of trends are present and accounted for (including chunky gold rings, organic pearls, and curb chains), and all but one piece currently is under $50, but no one would know. Ready to join the fan club with me?

Keep scrolling to shop the most expensive-looking & Other Stories jewelry.

Curb chains are my favorite chains.

This could pass as a family heirloom.

Perfect for everyday wear.

I’d wear this modern ring with all of my summer whites.

No one would guess these pearls are faux.

Sometimes I forget about bracelets, but this is an excellent reminder.

Everyone is wearing chunky gold rings right now, so I want to wear chunky gold rings.

The etching on these little hoops is a pretty touch.

Yes, $19 well spent.

This is basically summer in bracelet form.

Expensive-looking indeed.

I love wearing silver hoops in the summer.

Don’t be surprised when this inevitably sells out soon.
